Peter Mandelson is a former European Trade Commissioner and British First Secretary of State. As Trade Commissioner between 2004 and 2008, he negotiated trade agreements with many countries and led European negotiations in the WTO Doha World Trade Round.

Prior to this, he was Minister without Portfolio, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Northern Ireland Secretary and Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills in the British government under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown between 1997 and 2010.

Peter was Member of Parliament for Hartlepool in the UK from 1992 until 2004 and Director of Campaigns and Communications for the Labour party between 1985 and 1990.

He became President of the Great Britain China Centre in 2015, this non-departmental public body encourages dialogue and collaboration between Britain and China. He is also President of the Policy Network think tank and Senior Adviser to Lazard.

Robert Bischof is the current chairman of the German British Forum.

He started his business career in 1967 with Jungheinrich AG, Hamburg, when he was sent to the UK to start a new company. In 1991 he became non-executive chairman, Jungheinrich (GB) Ltd. and also took part in restructuring of East German industry under Chancellor Kohl’s action programme. In 1993 he was in charge of a USAID-financed defence conversion project in Slovakia.

In March 1994 he negotiated the acquisition of the Lancer Boss Group by Jungheinrich and headed the company as Chairman and CEO. He advised John Smith and several labour Shadow Ministers in the run-up to 1997 election.

In September 1997 he acquired a stake in the Liverpool-based direct marketing and mail order company McIntyre & King and was chairman until March 2002. In 2002 Linde AG assigned him to help repositioning of British subsidiaries.

He acts now as an advisor to the STILL board. He is on the board of the German-British Forum and the German British Chamber of Commerce & Industry and is a member of Learning and Skills Council’s Young People’s Learning Committee. He is a non-executive Director of Henderson Eurotrust plc and a member of the Advisory Council of T-Systems Ltd, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.

Robert Bischof studied economics at the University of Hamburg and trained in Hamburg in merchant banking.

Patricia Godfrey is Head of Insolvency & Restructuring at the London law firm, Nabarro.  She is accustomed to working at all stages of the decline curve ranging from turnaround, work-out and restructuring through to formal insolvency.

Patricia has strong Anglo-German business links and heads Nabarro’s German Group, is the Deputy Chair of the British German Chamber of Industry & Commerce and Vice Chair of the German British Forum.  Patricia is also Vice President of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and a council member of Insol Europe.

Rebecca is the co-founder and CEO of Delta Economics. She is an independent economist with an extensive background in modelling economic growth, trade, productivity, innovation and enterprise.  Most recently her work has focused on the drivers of long term growth globally and its relationship with financial systems.

She has been an adviser to several governments, written almost 200 articles on Economic issues, and held senior posts in leading academic, think-tank and corporate organisations.  These include her role as a Senior Fellow at London Business School, Head of UK Corporate Research at Deloitte, Chief Economist at the Work Foundation and Executive Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor world-wide (based at London Business School and Babson College Boston).

She has also held visiting professorial roles at Birkbeck College and the Max Planck Institute for Growth Research and was on the Birmingham Business School Advisory Board from its inception in 2004 until November 2011.. She holds a BA in Economics and German and an MSc and PhD in the economics of Science and Innovation.

She has advised the European Union and regional governments or agencies in the UK and Germany on innovation and enterprise policy and was a Specialist Adviser to the UK’s Treasury Select Committee between 2004 and 2006 on regional productivity.  She was an adviser to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Entrepreneurship between 2005 and 2009.  Rebecca is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants and a member of the Society of Business Economists.

She is a regular speaker at events and appears in the broadcast and print media frequently, most often putting the case for the promotion of Enterprise and Women’s Entrepreneurship, aspects of Access to Finance and increasingly, on the importance of trade as a driver of long term economic growth globally.

Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany.

Born in Münster/Westphalia, Andreas studied law and economics in Münster, Freiburg, Bonn and Hamburg.

After working in the US for 10-years for Deutsche Bank and Daimler-Benz AG, he continued to work for Daimler in Germany as head of PR for a subsidiary and then in a similar role for a large private bank.

Since August 2003 he has been director and member of the board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany, the British-German business network organisation with currently over 900 member companies and entrepreneurs from the UK and Germany.
